The winners get a larger stuffed Lion, named Darrin, who is the mascot for the program. The essay winners are Ethan Dias and Kylie Martin.

Students get a certificate of graduation to show they have passed the program. Usually they also get a shirt, however, this year D.A.R.E. officer John Rakestraw choose to get each student a miniature Darrin the lion, so each student will have a reminder of the pledge the made in D.A.R.E.
