Shell Knob School Holds a Mock Election

student pictured casting their vote during the mock-election Eighth grade students have been learning about their civic duties. During Social Studies, students prepared the whole school for a mock election that was held on November 4.   Eighth grade students went class-to-class helping younger students to register for the election. Teachers, staff, and administration also registered for the election. Students then created a registration card for voters to show at the polls. Students also had to provide registered people with absentee ballots if they were not going to be able to make it to the polls on election day. The next task was to prepare the polling booths, ballots, and other election day activities. Eighth grade students worked at the polls so voters could have their voice heard. SKS students are well prepared to have a voice in their future. student cast vote during mock-election
