Shell Knob School Honors Local Veterans

Veteran's Day program Shell Knob School held its 3rd annual Veteran’s’ breakfast on November 9, 2018.  The middle school students and staff decorated the Gym Lobby in Red, White, and Blue to honor the men and women who fought for our country. Breakfast was a potluck with food provided by teachers, staff, and administration. The veterans were served by students from the various leadership teams at Shell Knob Middle School. Breakfast was served at 7:30am. After serving students, teachers, and staff spent time eating and conversing with the veterans. Later, the elementary students lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and The National Anthem. Veteran's Day program The 8th grade students entered a contest held by VFW Post called the Patriot’s Pen. The top essays are sent by the local VFW Post to the National level. The president of our Local VFW Post Dave Atkinson with Dennis Page awarded the 1st-3rd place winners. 3rd place was Logan Whisman, 2nd Place was Kylie Martin, and 1st place was Rileigh Rickard. Students were awarded a certificate, medal, and money.

Veteran's Day program Students pre-kindergarten-8th grade were able to meet and express their gratitude for our local veterans by shaking their hands and giving the cards, letters and poppies they made to the men and women attending the breakfast.
