Shell Knob and the Community 2017

SKS students visit Nonna's Nummies by Judy Reynolds, SKS Counselor

Shell Knob students in grades 5-6-7-8 are learning about careers and businesses in their own community.  Students were enlightened about the restaurant business at Nonna's Nummies, owned by mother-daughter entrepreneurs Donna and Kelly Prohaska, at their 5-year-old business.  Students learned about general age requirements and what businesses look for in applicants, health dept. schooling, permits required, knowing your community and their needs, being flexible, as well as other pros and cons of owning a business.  The students asked great questions.  The hour long visit ended with students touring the kitchen and receiving delicious cookies.

Thank you Nonna's Nummies (meaning an Italian Grandmother's Sweets) for being our first successful Shell Knob career partner!
