track hand off

Spring has sprung and that means track season for the Chargers.  Shell Knob has a unique problem in training for track - we do not have a track!  Coaches Mike Riepl and Max Schuman are very innovative when it comes to practice. The coaches use the outdoor classroom track and they believe running on the rocks and hills helps build perseverance.  Even without a track, our Shell Knob athletes show up and represent the Chargers quite well. For SKS athletes to fare so well is outstanding, considering the first time they see an actual track is at their first track meet of the season.

The Chargers first track meet was in Diamond. Coach Schuman felt like this was a great start to the season. Results: 100 m dash - Cooper Armstrong 17th, Dylan Peoples 19th, 200 m dash - Dylan Peoples 19th, 4x400 relay team - 9th, Long jump - Eli Johnson 20th, Jake Klausner 22nd,  Triple Jump - Lucas Prestridge 10th,  Discus - Roman Boyd 9th, Ryder Sovereign 25th,  Shot Put - Lennox Rose 14th, Ryan Crumb 21st.  The girls were unable to participate in the first few meets due to volleyball season still going on.
