Recently, SKS was treated to a performance by the Cassville High School Band. We had a blast watching and listening to them! It was extra special to see some of our former students playing their instruments. They even had an amazing display of percussion talent! At the end of the performance, their director, Micah Boise, invited our band students to join them in "Radioactive."

It is no secret that the teachers have the ability to significantly impact the students that come through their classrooms. Every teacher comes into school on the first day of a new year and excitedly greets each student as they begin the year. Within that first day, the teacher promptly begins to teach, inspire, care for, and encourage each student in their class. The journey begins... When asked, many people can very quickly tell you their "favorite" teacher or the one that made a significant difference in their life. It is evident that throughout everyone's educational experience, at least one teacher will have had such an impact on a student that it may have altered their career choice or even altered their path in life altogether. Many times those teachers have no idea the impact they made in the lives of their students. If you are reading this, I encourage you to reach out and tell that teacher just how much they meant to you. Teachers are also lifelong learners. They spend countless hours preparing for the perfect lesson, the perfect project, or even the perfect presentation. Guess how many times those preparations demonstrate perfection? Maybe never! The beauty of being a teacher is that in those imperfect lessons (where the teacher thought they blew it), a lightbulb can turn on for those students who didn't quite get it before. In those moments teachers learn a little bit about adaptation, and flexibility in the classroom. Both of which are essential skills for a teacher! The innate desire of 99.9% of teachers is for their students to be successful. Success looks different for every student. In an effort to inspire, teachers learn what recognizing that success looks like for each student. They even hold students accountable and push them to heights they never knew they could reach. You may recall a specific time when a teacher recognized you for your effort or pushed you toward a goal you didn't know you could achieve. Great teachers recognize greatness and inspire students to see it for themselves. Let them know you appreciate them! Teachers also experience "those students". Many of you reading this may have been THAT student, or at least know who that student was. You know, the student that earned frequent flyer miles with all the trips to the principal's office? Sometimes those students are the ones that come back 10 years after graduating and run their own business, are gainfully employed, provide for their family, or maybe even become the principal of a small school district in a phenomenal town on Table Rock Lake. Teachers, among all school staff, are in the business of service. In my opinion, there is no greater calling than the calling to serve others. Here in Shell Knob, I boast that we have some of the best teachers to ever be in the profession. You will not find a more caring, devoted, passionate, skilled, and encouraging group of educators. THANK YOU to all teachers, but most importantly thank you to those that serve here in Shell Knob. Your efforts don't go unnoticed. You are an outstanding group of teachers, and I am honored to serve alongside you. If there is a teacher that inspired you, or treated you with kindness when you needed it, reach out and thank them. Let them know how appreciative you are for their impact on your life. Ethan Farr Shell Knob Principal

8th grade had a career field trip to Mercy Physical Therapy. They learned about career options in physical therapy and occupational therapy. Andrea Watts taught them that listening, communicating, being able to write well, and being a good student are all important to get a career in physical therapy.

Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, but what you do consistently ❤️ Dr. Conyac and Mr. Farr ~ Happy Administrative Professionals Day!!! A simple “thank you” doesn’t seem like enough. Leadership is all about making others better as a result of your presence. Someone who guides with insight and inspiration, recognizes accomplishments, encourages and appreciates employees, and models thoughtfulness day after day. What a perfect example you both are! For all the details you’ve arranged, all the extra hours you’ve gladly stayed, your tireless efforts, positive attitude and attention … Thank you for keeping everything running behind the scenes and being such dedicated and valuable leaders to SKS! Your professionalism, commitment, and passion for your work is greatly appreciated and never goes unnoticed! For all that you give, for all that you do, for working hard, for being there day in and day out and for simply being you … I hope today you both know how very much your work is valued and how much you are both appreciated. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!! Sincerely, Tosha Welch and Family
