Central Crossing Fire Protection taught our 8th grade about a career in fire protection. They taught the students what training is needed and ways to get that in an affordable way, what benefits are available for fire fighters, and things to consider when choosing a career. The field trip was finished with a tour of the equipment.

8th grade science students investigated light waves, and how they travel, with a laser challenge. They were asked to reflect a beam of light from a laser across four mirrors, and back to the original source.

Leap Day activity
4th grade estimated how far they could leap and then used tape measures to measure and see how close they were to their estimates.
Family Literacy Night is Thursday, March 21, 5:00-6:30. There will be dinner, games and the book fair. For every family that attends Literacy Night, you will receive a $15 book voucher. Your child will be looking at the books during library this week, so they will have an idea of what they want. On Thursday, during the evening, each grade will be called at a designated time to redeem your voucher.

Recently, Keith Dinwiddie, from OTC, taught 8th grade a lot of valuable things to consider after high school. In addition to all the options available at OTC, Keith also encouraged students to really think about what they like to do when choosing a career path. He also told them about the A+ program and how it can be used to make post high school education more affordable.
