Who remembers the adoption of Checkers the Classroom Pet Snake? We’re thrilled to share that Checkers is still thriving! Adopted in January 2023, thanks to Mrs. T-K's “Pets in the Classroom” grant, Checkers has become a beloved part of our middle school learning environment. In these photos, you can see our students joyfully interacting with him as they learn about ecosystems, living organisms, and the importance of caring for living things. Each week, they feed him, help clean his tank, and occasionally get to hold him—an experience that fosters responsibility and respect for all creatures!

Recently, the Shell Knob Charger Band got the privilege to attend Ozarko Band Competition at MSU on Saturday, October 5th. The competition involved multiple high schools that competed in different divisions. They fought for trophies and individual awards. All of the high schools showcased their incredible marching skills and dedication. Collectively, the band learned how they worked together as a team, and how the high schools’ hardwork and commitment paid off in their dazzling display. The band altogether was inspired to pursue band and eventually join them on the field.
